August 23rd, 2011, the Chicago Park District supports the use of Soldier Field (the historic landmark created as a memorial for American Soldiers) to host the 2011 Illinois Warrior Summit & 4th Annual Welcome Home Celebration and expands its offering to military service members of Illinois State. The Illinois Supporting All Veterans Equally (ISAVE) Foundation, US Department of Veterans Affairs, Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, State of Illinois, City of Chicago, Chicago Park District and World Sport Chicago have collaborated to provide veterans an opportunity to receive important information about Benefits, Education, Employment, Housing and Legal Opportunities for FREE. Over 250 organizations will be present and working together to deliver programs and services to veterans and family members efficiently. This is "The One Stop Shop For Veterans."Additionally, World Sport Chicago is providing an opportunity for 150 injured, ill and wounded veterans to compete in sporting event competitions called, the Midwest Valor Games. An event of this kind has never been done anywhere in the country and we are proud to host the Illinois Warrior Summit, 4th Annual Welcome Home Celebration and the Midwest Valor Games.
