OUR CAUSE PARTNER:

Walk On

Walk On provides equine assisted activities to people with physical, cognitive, social and emotional disabilities. Walk On is organized for charitable and educational purposes to inspire people to advance to their highest potential.

Located in Barrington, Illinois, Walk On was founded in 2005. The facility was the dream of several people dedicated to providing horseback riding for children and adults with disabilities.

Our program is a member center of the Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship International, formerly NARHA. Instructors are PATH certified  The facility features a heated indoor arena and sensory trail. Please visit our website to meet our horses who provide all our riders a magical experience.

The gentle, rhythmical gait of a horse moves the riders's body in a manner similar to the human walk.  Benefits of Equine Assisted Activities include:

Physical...balance,coordination, motor control, strength, sensory integratioin and visual/spatial orientation.

Cognitive...attention, communication, judgement, following directions, problem solving and sequencing.

Social...cooperation, empathy, responsibility and trust.
