Team Rae of Sunshine raises funds each year for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Arianna Rae Ramirez. After a series of seizures at age 3, Arianna was given the heartbreaking diagnosis of atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (“AT/RT”), an aggressive brain tumor.

Her treatment began immediately including multiple surgeries, rounds of chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and radiation after which she was declared cancer free. As we all know, cancer is unpredictable and, sadly, in July 2011, at age 5, she relapsed and her family was told to begin making memories for the short time she had left with them.

Princess Arianna, as she became known around St. Jude, was a fighter and defied the odds continuing to provide love, laughter & light to everyone around her for nearly three more years. Arianna lost her courageous battle & earned her angel wings on March 21, 2014.

Our team, comprised of Arianna’s family and friends, raises funds for St. Jude in honor of Arianna and to fight our own battle against pediatric cancer. As St. Jude founder, Danny Thomas, said, we believe “No child should die in the dawn of life.” The research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provided Arianna with four years of life she wasn't supposed to see, but that is not enough.
