Founded in 1843 for German immigrants, St. Mary's became the city's Hungarian Catholic Church and cultural center in 1956. Its acclaimed architecture, beautiful old paintings, ornate statuary and noted historical personalities have earned it a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. 

We are an historic church that is in imminent danger of closing due to dwindling attendance.  Our Church is a historic and art treasure which we hope to preserve for future generations of St. Louisians.

Our current situation is grave.  We have about 60 active people in the parish.  This means finances are at least $1000 below revenue.  Our main strategy is to increase awareness and attendance, and also do major fundraising to extend our closure horizon.  Coming up on August 21 we are having our 174th annual homecoming picnic.  We hope to have some items to raffle at that picnic and are hoping you can help!
