Jared Platt’s Medical Fund was created to help with medical costs incurred by the Platt family as they battle Jared's illness.

In early September, Jared was admitted to Morristown Hospital for emergency surgery to alleviate extreme back pain attributed to a herniated disk.  Jared's surgery was supposed to remedy his pain.  In the days following his surgery, Jared’s back pain not only intensified, it also spread throughout his entire body. A battery of scans and tests revealed that Jared has Stage IV cancer, the exact nature of which is unknown.

Jared has been transferred to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where the doctors are working to determine his exact diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
