One in seven Americans go hungry, and billions of dollars of food is thrown away every year. We want to help change this. We have distributed food to the general public and surrounding neighborhoods for over eight years. Our mission for this community outreach effort is to feed those who face the challenges of food insecurity and one way we do this is through our food distribution program. Last year over 5,000 people received rescued groceries for their families through our “Weekly Wednesday” food distribution. We will surely surpass that number this year. This year we also started rescuing prepared food straight from the chefs' kitchens. As a result we now give out dinners several times a week. With a small budget we always need help with purchasing much needed items such as paper towels, dish detergent, plates, bleach, food storage bags, drinks for the kids, condiments and much more. Our projections for 2018 are to double the amount of people we served in 2017 from 5,000 to 10,000. We will also increase our base of 22 volunteer helpers this year.  We also give away free clothes and recycle our empty boxes.
