At Casey Cares, we know how difficult life can be for families with critically ill children. From leukemia and brain tumors to sickle cell disease or organ failure, the treatment of these childhood illnesses has far-reaching impacts, not just on the sick child, but on the entire family. There are seven programs offered to all Casey Cares patients: 1. Our Family Festivities Program provides families with tickets to sporting events, area attractions, museums, plays, live shows and concerts. 2. Working with hotels and businesses, the Casey Cares team designs a weekend vacation package inclusive of lodging, meals and activities. 3. To honor our children's' special day, we initiated our Birthday Blast Program, sending a surprise delivery of a birthday cake, flowers, cookies, or balloon bouquets on the child's birthday. 4. Added nine years ago, the Kami's Jammies Program provides new sleepwear to pediatric patients on extended hospital stays. 5. In memory of a Casey Cares child, Abraham "Hammy" Scrivner, Hammy's Heart was created to offer gift cards to families who need assistance with their grocery bills. 6. Added in 2009, the Caring Connections Group Party Program allows families to meet, share and emotionally support each other while taking part in fun group activities together. 7. Finally, our Better Together Program encourages families who have lost a child to continue to participate with our programs for an additional year to help them heal.
