Canine Companions for Independence is the oldest assistance dog organization providing over 40 years of service. We have 6 regional training centers across the country and our region alone has over 170 volunteer puppy raisers. We are also participating in a pilot study with the VA hospital training dogs for a PTSD study which has been extended due to its success. Our dogs are given free of charge and our organization is funded completely by donations, both individual & corporate, & grants.
