Camp Kids Are Kids Chicago (CKAKC) is a cost-free, week long, city based camp for children living with cancer ages 7 - 17.

It’s an experience that provides our campers the opportunity to make friends, play, laugh, and just be kids again.

Unlike most camps, CKAKC takes place at a hotel within close proximity to some of the best children’s hospitals in the nation. Our staff of nurses, doctors and counselors are all volunteers. The hotel donates the space which is magically converted to something akin to “camp” quarters with bunk beds that serve as our “cabins”.

Our campers take daily trips that broaden their horizons and brighten their minds. They have time to play typical camp games, sing songs, build things, laugh.

In describing camp, one camper said, “it is the best camp ever! Like....you feel like a normal kid and you will never stand out. You’ll fit right in and make lots of new friends.”
